Whether you are dressing as a traditional vampire or a “Twilight” vampire, your Twilight costume will need to include makeup. In both cases, you will want a pale white. In the case of a Twilight vampire, you will also need to have sparkles that pick up sunlight.

For the general pale vampire makeup, you have many choices. You don’t want to be white like a clown but rather pale. A good choice is the Don Post Light Flesh Makeup at BuyCostumes.com. It is described as “that sick look you get when all the color drains from your face.”

A kit that would work really well, also from BuyCostumes.com, is the Ghost Stories Makeup Kit. It includes not only the white that you need for your skin but also dark colors to make the “bruised-like” areas under the eyes. And it sells for less than $5! (just use it VERY sparingly because you don’t actually want to look like a ghost).

Of course, if you are going for the “after the hunt” Bella, you will want to pick up some fake blood as well!

If you are looking for higher end products, in particular full-body products that are pale and shimmery, try ULTA or Sephora. Sephora Brand Glitter Spray Silver Glitter Spray can be sprayed all over:

Remember also that adding a deep, red lipstick or lip stain will help create a contrast that will make the skin look paler.

drugstore.com is a terrific source for Twilight costume makeup because they sell both the Halloween makeup and the high end body products. Check out the BuySeasons Vampire Complete Kit. The All That Glitters Scented Shimmer Body Powder, Sexy is described as a “luminous, silky body powder that gives sensual fragrance and romantic shimmer anywhere you want to dazzle.” Sounds just like Twilight!

So the basics of Twilight makeup–pale skin, sparkles or shimmer, maybe a little bruising under the eyes, and red lips. Combine it with some of our other Twilight Costume ideas such as gold contacts and you will be the best-looking vampire at the party!
